For the Base
- 1 (9-inch) frozen ready-to-bake pie crust (must be deep dish)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced (about 3/4 cup)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
For the Filling
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, freshly grated
- 1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
Preheat oven to 375°F
Place frozen pie crust on baking sheet and pre-bake for 10 minutes
Let crust cool briefly
Melt butter in pan over medium-high heat
Cook diced onions until translucent (3-5 minutes)
