Casserole Ingredients

  • 8 large eggs (or substitute with 4 whole eggs and 6 egg whites)
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt (such as Lawry's)
  • 8 ounces diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons very finely diced sweet onion

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or spray an 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or butter. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, crack 8 large eggs (or 4 whole eggs and 6 egg whites). Add 1 cup of milk and ½ teaspoon seasoned salt. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  • Stir in the 8 ounces of diced cooked ham, 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese, and 3 tablespoons of finely diced sweet onion. Mix until everything is evenly combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly with a spatula and gently tap the dish to remove air bubbles and help ingredients settle.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes after baking. Cut into squares and serve warm. Garnish with fresh chives or parsley if desired.
