Days 1-14 (First Fermentation)
Place apple scraps (6-8 apples' worth) in clean 4-cup mason jar
Fill with filtered water to cover + 2 tablespoons sugar, stir
Cover with paper towel/muslin, secure with band
Store in dark place at room temp
Let sit untouched for 14 days
Day 14 (Straining)
Strain liquid from scraps
Discard scraps to compost
Return liquid to clean jar
Cover with fresh paper towel/muslin
Days 15-42 (Second Fermentation)
Day 42+ (Finishing)
Taste test for acidity
If needed, ferment longer, checking every few days
