Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • tsp instant dry yeast
  • 2 tsp honey
  • tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • to 3 cups all-purpose flour

Filling

  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (6 oz) package of pepperoni slices
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

Make the Dough

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, add warm water, yeast, and honey. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add 2 cups of flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix on low speed for 3–4 minutes. Gradually add more flour (up to 1 cup) until a soft, smooth dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

Let Dough Rise

  • Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Roll and Fill

  • On a floured surface, roll dough into a 14” x 22” rectangle. Sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella and layer pepperoni slices on top.

Shape

  • Starting from a long side, roll the dough into a tight log. Place it seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Score the top with a sharp knife 3–4 times.

Bake

  • Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cool and Serve

  • Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
