Ingredients
  

  • 1 (5 oz) can wild albacore tuna, drained (Wild Planet brand recommended)
  • 3-4 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 dill pickle spears, minced (see notes for alternatives)
  • 1/4 teaspoon steak seasoning (see notes for substitutions)

Sandwich Assembly

  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bread (Canyon Bakehouse Heritage Loaf recommended)
  • Softened butter, for spreading

Instructions
 

  • Drain and flake tuna in a bowl; mix with mayo, minced pickles, and steak seasoning.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice.
  • Place half the tuna mixture on two unbuttered sides of bread, top each with cheddar cheese, then cover with remaining bread, buttered side out.
  • Heat a skillet over medium; grill sandwiches until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
  • Slice and serve hot.
