- 1 (5 oz) can wild albacore tuna, drained (Wild Planet brand recommended)
- 3-4 Tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 dill pickle spears, minced (see notes for alternatives)
- 1/4 teaspoon steak seasoning (see notes for substitutions)
Sandwich Assembly
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices bread (Canyon Bakehouse Heritage Loaf recommended)
- Softened butter, for spreading
Drain and flake tuna in a bowl; mix with mayo, minced pickles, and steak seasoning.
Butter one side of each bread slice.
Place half the tuna mixture on two unbuttered sides of bread, top each with cheddar cheese, then cover with remaining bread, buttered side out.
Heat a skillet over medium; grill sandwiches until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
Slice and serve hot.
