Corrections Policy
Data accuracy is the core of EatYay. We maintain an open, transparent workflow for reviewing and correcting any data discrepancies.
1. Commitment to Accuracy
While our system imports data directly from official USDA FoodData Central releases and verified restaurant nutrition disclosures, upstream updates or transcription discrepancies can occasionally occur. When an error is identified, we prompt inspect and update the record.
2. Correction Process
If you spot an inaccurate value, missing portion conversion, or broken reference link:
- Verify the item name and page URL on EatYay.
- Cross-reference official source documentation (e.g. USDA FDC ID or restaurant menu disclosure).
- Submit an inquiry to our technical team detailing the specific field and authoritative reference.
3. Upstream USDA Refresh Protocol
EatYay employs a non-destructive USDA refresh pipeline. When upstream USDA databases issue updates, our system matches entities by stable source identity (FDC ID), preserving persisted URL slugs, canonical references, and editorial annotations.
